There’s nothing quite like enjoying a crusty warm baguette with a seasoned plate of olive oil. For this Mediterranean Olive Oil Dip, the warm olives, shallots, and garlic provide a freshness that is complimented by Mendocino Spices Mediterranean Seasoning. In the warm oil the herbaceous flavors from the seasoning bloom. The basil, oregano, and rosemary enhance the other ingredients even further that make this appetizer delectable and great for serving a crowd.
¾ cup EVOO
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
½ shallot, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, grated
½ lemon, zest
1/3 cup kalamata olives, finely chopped
2 tbsp Mendocino Spices Mediterranean Seasoning
1 tsp Mendocino Spices Crushed Red Pepper
Mendocino Spices All-Purpose Seasoning, to taste
Fresh Parsley, for garnish
1 warm baguette
1. In a small saucepan over low heat, add EVOO, shallots, garlic, and lemon zest. Stir often. Once ingredients become fragrant, season with Mendocino Spices All-Purpose Seasoning.
2. Add kalamata olives to the saucepan and continue stirring. Remove from heat after 2 minutes or until olives become fragrant.
3. Transfer olive oil mixture to a serving dish and add balsamic vinegar, Mendocino Spices, and fresh parsley.
4. Serve with a warm baguette and enjoy with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
