Spicing up your chili oil has never looked so good. This everything bagel chili oil, will surely spice up your breakfast and brunch game. A crispy oil like this one is originally used in Chinese cuisine, but this one has all the flavors of a traditional crispy oil with a hint of everything bagel flavor. With an everything bagel twist, you’ll be using this to fry up your eggs, toast your bagels, and so much more!
Everything Bagel Seasoning:
1 tbsp Mendocino Spices Black Sesame Seeds
1 tbsp Mendocino Spices Hulled Sesame Seeds
1 tbsp Mendocino Spices Poppy Seeds
3 tbsp Mendocino Spices Montreal Seasoning
4 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning
1 tbsp Mendocino Spices Crushed Red Pepper
1 tbsp Mendocino Spices Aleppo Pepper
½ tsp Mendocino Spices Ground Cayenne
1 ½ tbsp Mendocino Spices Crispy Shallots
½ cup neutral oil (I used EVOO)
-In a small pot over medium/low heat, warm your neutral oil until it reaches a temperature of 225 – 245 degrees F. Test with a handheld thermometer.
-Mix required Mendocino Spices for Everything Bagel seasoning. In a mason jar pour 4 tbsp of everything bagel seasoning and set aside the remaining seasoning in an airtight container.
-In the mason jar, add in the remaining Mendocino Spices (crushed red pepper, Aleppo pepper, ground cayenne, crispy shallots). When your oil reaches the desired temperature, pour over spices. It should start to sizzle and bubble up. After a few minutes, stir to make sure all the ingredients hit the oil. Let sit for about 20-30 minutes and let cool.
-Store in an airtight container.
