Bacon is already so good, spicing it up is not always necessary. However, when it’s the holidays and you’re using bacon in your salads, side dishes, and all the things adding a little extra seasoning and flavor makes those dishes extra special. Using brown sugar and Mendocino Spices makes this sweet heat bacon caramelized with sweetness and a little kick for good measure.
6 slices think cut bacon
2 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp Mendocino Spices Ground De Arbol
– Arrange 6 slices thick cut bacon on a rack set on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F until they just start to crisp, 15 minutes.
– Microwave the brown sugar and Mendocino Spices with 1 tsp water until dissolved, about 45 seconds. Flip the bacon and brush the tops with the sugar/arbol mixture.
– Continue baking until browned, 12 to 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
